Calvin and Hobbes - Escape

The theme of this comic is "Escape" - also done for my Sequential Art class. I need to fix up the line work in a lot of spots (and the right most panel isn't in yet, character design needs to be switched out, etc!!). Just wanted to show a preview of what I'm working on...

Book Spreads

In the style of Masha Dyans - these are the tight sketches of three little stories. I'll post the first set of stories today, and the next one tomorrow, etc. The objective was to create three short stories around a list of story devices we were given. Then we did a few iterations of drawings, and one final render (full color) or one spread. The frog from a previous post was part of one of the final renders. I did those in watercolor, and will post them in a few days.

Look... a Stool...

Modeled this quickly in class today so the students could import this as a reference for size/proportion because our model was seated on a similar stool.

Frog Illustration

Part of a longer tale that I illustrated and painted in watercolor. The colors are a bit blown out/off from the quality of the scan... but this is a start!

Final Project

So I fell in love with the work of Brittney Lee ( She's incredible. I'm trying to emulate that style for a final project in Sequential Drawing... based off of the story of the Five Chinese Brothers (which I'm changing to sisters I think... because girls are more fun to draw)!!
