Character Project

For this project, we had to design a character based after ourselves. There are 3 "panels" that show the character in 3 different scenes. Basically, I decided to make my character a kindergarten teacher - who has a frustrating day but ends it on a high note with a nice, warm, relaxing bath. Much more to come... I have a lot of final projects to show!

Lots and lots to catch up on...

As the title says... lots and lots! Too much to talk about right now (it is Finals Week after all). So a quick holiday card in progress. This was the first draft of the background. When I have a chance I'll upload the original sketches, and I'll keep updating with the other drafts/pieces I have done already.

Happy Holidays and look forward to posts about what I've been working on at the end of the semester, CTN, and other fun things!

Sherlock Holmes

This was part of a character assignment. We each came up with a list of a couple of hero and villain combinations. Then we switched. I ended up with a bunch of great options but went with Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty. The assignment was to depict them interacting and recognizable as their characters. We were also supposed to try out a new illustrative style. I didn't do such a good job with that, but I had done that with the NPR assignment, and I was trying to do something with a bit more interesting perspective at least. The original sketch was just focused on the two of them falling - with extreme proportions, angles, etc. But it looked weird without the context of Reichenbach Falls and the distance they had to fall. I still want to clean this up quite a lot, and might try and second version more zoomed in. But for now...

NPR

This was an assignment for class based on NPR. We were supposed to illustrate a feeling, memory, or reaction to some aspect of NPR. Mine was sitting in my apartment for the first time and realizing that Fresh Air was broadcast just down the street, here in Philly!
